What happens if the bill due date is on a weekend?: Utility bills are due by the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a weekend, you will have until 5 pm on Monday to have your payment in the Utility Billing Office before the penalty is applied.

1. What containers can I set out for pickup other than my poly cart?: From May 1st to September 30th, you may set out up to 5 additional bags. From October 1st to April 30th, you may set out up to 3 additional bags. Also acceptable are wooden or cardboard boxes up to 10 cubic feet and not weighing more than 30 pounds and which are securely covered, closed or tied in a manner sufficient to prevent spillage, not to exceed three per pickup. Larger boxes such as those used for packaged appliances will be picked up if broken down and folded flat.

2. Can I have an additional container?: Yes. You can call the utility office at 405-262-4070 or come to the Utility Billing Office at City Hall to complete a form requesting an additional cart. For each additional container (cart) there is an additional $11.50 per month charge.

3. Bulk trash information: View the Bulk Pick Up Schedule (PDF). In addition to this, a schedule can be picked up at the Utility Billing Office. Or you may contact Utility Billing at 262-4070.

5. Do you take payments over the telephone?: Yes, with Visa, MasterCard or American Express with no service fee. You can pay online with no service fee here. Payments also may be made in person, dropped in the night drop box, made at the kiosk outside the west side doors at the municipal building or mailed to City of El Reno, Utility Billing, P.O. Drawer 700, El Reno, OK. 73036. We also offer the option of having the payment taken automatically each month from your bank account.

6. Do you take credit cards?: Yes, we take Visa and MasterCard. We also offer the ability to make payment online. If you do not have your own computer, you may use a public access computer at the El Reno Carnegie Library.

7. How far in advance do I need to let you know if I need to set-up service, close my account, or transfer my service?: For same day service, by 11:30 am. There are no service orders on Friday afternoons. Payments received before noon, same day service between 1 pm and 4 pm. Payments received after noon, following business day service before noon. Disconnections can be made either in person or over the phone.

8. When do I get my utility deposit back?: The deposit is left on the account until the account is closed (finaled). At that time, the deposit will be applied to the final bill. If the deposit is greater than the final bill, a refund for the difference will be mailed to the forwarding address you provided.

10. What if my trash can is missed?: They have until dusk to pick up trash, if it is missed please call the office 405-262-4070 the following business day to get it put in for a missed pick up.

11. How should I put my poly cart out?: The poly cart needs to be set forward not backwards. When they empty a can backwards the lid prevents all the trash to completely come out and when it gets set back down it all falls out or back in the can.
